Winner of Outstanding Chinese in the Area of Medical Education
Mr Tu Tongjin
Tu Tongjin is a Fujian person, a distinguished medical educator, and the founder of Chinese neurosurgery. In 1951, he was selected to study in the former Soviet Academy of Medical Sciences Institute of Neurosurgery and he received his MD in 1955. He has successively served as the vice president of the Fourth Military Medical University, the principal, the vice minister of the General Logistics Department of Health, and the dean of the Military Medical Academy of Sciences. He is the author of 10 monographs, including the "Soviet Neurosurgery Science" and the "Emergency Neurosurgery" which he wrote and compiled. He made an outstanding contribution to medical education and medical personnel training. His achievements will be permanently loaded in Cambridge honors list of World Outstanding Chinese.
